Summer Night Out Subtly Smokey Makeup

I had a party to go to this past weekend, so I of course wanted to try out two recent makeup purchases from MAC – All that Glitters eyeshadow and Creme Cup lipstick (I know, I know, where have I been?!). I wanted to create a smokey eye using lighter colors for summer, and I was very pleased with how the look came out, which is why I am sharing it with you today!

For my base I used my favorite foundation as of late, Giorgio Armani’s Luminous Silk, paired with Rimmel’s Stay Matte powder in Translucent. I then applied my eyeshadow; I like to do this step prior to applying concealer, that way if there is any eyeshadow fall-out I can clean it away. On the eyes I used my finger tips to pat Urban Decay’s Primer Potion, and then applied Le Metier’s Dualistic Eye Pencil in Tamarack to my lids using rough strokes. Next I took my trusty MAC 217 brush to buff the pencil in (it is very creamy so this doesn’t take much effort). Using the 217 brush again, I swept All that Glitters over the pencil, which created a beautiful, shimmery taupe color. To finish off the eyes I used my Revlon Colorstay Liquid Eye Pen to create a thin line on my upper lash line, and then applied two coats of Maybelline’s the Rocket Volum’ Express Waterproof mascara to both top and bottom lashes.

Next I swept Diorskin Nude Tan bronzer in 002 in the hollows of my cheeks and on my temples, and tapped Le Metier’s Creme Fresh Tint for Lip and Cheek in Mystique right on the apples of my cheeks. This is the point at which I concealed using Maybelline’s Instant Age Rewind concealer, and finished with a light dusting of powder overtop.

Finally (whew!), I applied Creme Cup to my lips directly from the tube, and softened the look by pressing the lipstick into my lips with a fingertip.
