What I’m Wearing Today: Date Night Edition

I’m going on a bit of a date night/happy hour thing with my fiance in a few hours and I wanted to share my look with you! I wanted to keep things natural but a little smokey. Here’s what I did:

I began by patting Urban Decay’s Primer Potion on my lids and filling in my brows slightly with Anastasia’s Brow Wiz. I then curled my lashes with a lash curler from Sephora, and started going to town with my Le Metier de Beaute Melange de Colour eyeshadow palette. Another pricey palette, I know, but the quality of Le Metier’s eyeshadows really can’t be beat. If you can still find this palette, I highly recommend picking it up. The Naked Palette and Physician’s Formula eye shimmer strips have similar shades to the ones I used here.

First I took a beige shimmery shade (second row, third color on the right) and washed it all over my lids. I then mixed a rose gold and a true gold shade and blended them softly into the crease. Next I took my favorite liquid eye pen by Revlon and drew a thin line on the upper lash line, and then smudged a dark brown shade over the liner to soften the black a bit. Lastly I took a light shimmering champagne shade (third row, third on the right) and dabbed it on my inner corners with my finger. A few coats of the Rocket mascara, and that’s the eyes done!

On the face I blended in Giorgio Armani’s Luminous Silk with my Expert Face brush and then set it with Rimmel’s Stay Matte powder. Since I went with a smokey eye I wanted to keep things simple on the cheeks, so I swept only a tiny amount of my Jouer bronzer on my cheeks and temples.

Finally, I wanted to keep things natural on the lips so I went for Mac’s Syrup – a gorgeous pinky-berry that appears a little scary and purple in the tube, but comes out sheer (just trust me on this one).

What makeup do you wear on date night?

You should post a picture of your make up! Either way that palette looks great for date night.
