I came across the new Maybelline Fall 2013 Scene on the Runway display at CVS and decided that I needed to pick up a couple goodies. I went with a Maybelline Eye Studio Color Plush Silk Eyeshadow Palette in Fall Temptation, which contains golds and browns that are perfect for everyday wear, as well as a new Master Smoky eye pencil in Provence Plum. I wanted to create a wearable smokey fall look today using these new products, so here’s what I came up with:
I don’t want to bore you with my base routine since I pretty much use the same products everyday (Luminous Silk, Rimmel Stay Matte Powder, Jouer Bronzer), so I’ll get right to the eyes! I primed my lids as usual with UD Primer potion, and then took the second lightest shade all over my lid with a MAC 217. I then took the medium brown-purple shade and patted that on the lid a bit closer to the lash line. Next I drew a thick line with the Master Smoky pencil on my upper lash line, and a thinner line on my lower lash line about three quarters of the way in. To smoke out the lash line a bit more, I took a smudge brush and went over the liner with the darkest shade in the shadow palette. Lastly, to brighten up the inner corners I added a bit of the lightest shade with my finger.
Onto the lips… I wanted to keep things natural since the eyes are quite smokey. To keep the look fresh, I used pale pinks rather than a nude. First I took Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Demure and instead of swiping it across my lips, I tapped it in to get a more natural effect. I then squeezed a tiny amount of L’Oreal Colour Riche LeGloss in Florid Pink onto my finger, and tapped it on the center of my lips (the gloss looks bright in the photo but I promise it comes out very sheer!).
Have you tried any of these products? Let me know what you think!
