Hi guys – apologies once again for the lack of posts. I have a paper due Tuesday and all of the researching and writing has consumed my life! I opted for a quick, classic makeup look today (since I didn’t want to take a lot of time away from my paper to do it!) and I wanted to share this everyday look with you guys.
I started by priming my eyes with Urban Decay’s Primer Potion and curling my lashes. I then took W.O.S. from the Urban Decay Naked Basics palette and washed it all over my lids. I then took a slightly darker shade from the palette, Naked 2, and applied that to the crease. To add a bit of definition at the lash line I drew a thin line with a tiny flick at the end with a black gel liner pencil by Salma Hayek’s new brand, Nuance (review on more Nuance products soon!). I’ve been using this pencil for about a week and I am obsessed. It glides on so smoothly, looks like gel liner once applied, and stays put all day long. To finish off the eyes I applied a couple coats of Maybelline’s The Rocket mascara.
Moving on to face products… I think I have found my new holy grail drug store foundation, which is Neutrogena’s Skin Clearing Liquid Makeup. I’ve only been wearing it for a couple days so I can’t speak to the skin clearing effects just yet, but I have to say that this stuff is incredible – it really perfects the skin and lasts the entire day. It provides a medium coverage and would probably work best for oily and combination oily skin. On top of the foundation I applied a bit of Rimmel’s Stay Matte powder to my t-zone, and then contoured a bit with Jouer’s Mattifying Bronzing Powder. Lastly I applied Nars’ Blush in Deep Throat to the apples of my cheeks.
For lips I chose YSL’s Rouge Volupte Shine in 15, a gorgeous, creamy peach that I think would go with any makeup look. I know that these lipsticks are pretty pricey, but the quality is there. The lipstick imparts opaque color and beautiful shine, and the formula is both moisturizing and long-lasting.
