I’m back! I’m really going to try to stick to a posting schedule this time, as I feel like I’ve gotten a better handle on my law school work. Anywho… back to the makeup.
I’ve never been a huge fan of Bobbi Brown’s palettes (her eyeshadows are a bit powdery for my taste), but when I saw this Rich Chocolate Eye Palette I couldn’t resist. To me this is a sophisticated, more wearable version of the Naked Palette. The lighter shades can be combined to create a soft day look, and to take it into evening you can smoke things out with the deepest brown and sparkle shades.
The shadows in this palette are on the powdery side and the color payoff is a bit sheer, but I kind of like the sheerness of these shades in that it makes application hard to screw up. You can take a dark shadow in the crease and know that it will still look daytime appropriate. What I have been doing lately is taking the shimmery champagne shade (third in from the right), washing it all over my lids, and then taking the next-to-darkest shade and applying that to the crease. A bit of black liner on the upper lash line and a couple coats of mascara and I’m good to go.
Another thing I love about this palette is that you can wear it with virtually any lip look. Two of my go-to lip products as of late have been Burberry’s Lip Mist in Field Rose, a creamy natural pink, and Revlon’s Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Adore, a perfect-for-Autumn reddish brown that you can sheer out or really build up.
Have you tried this palette?
