On my most recent trip to CVS I knew what I wanted to pick up – L’Oreal Lash Out Butterfly mascara and a L’Oreal Infallible lipstick. I had seen this new mascara in the store previously, but never thought to give it a try since I have been so in love with my Maybelline the Rocket. What made me want to pick it up was an Instagram photo from one of my favorite bloggers, Kris from Young Married Chic. The photo was captioned, “you need this mascara,” and since I trust all of her recommendations, I knew this mascara had to be mine!

When I was in CVS I didn’t see a waterproof version of the mascara, so I just picked up the original formula in Blackest Black. I love its silver packaging and the unique brush; one side has short bristles, great for coating bottom lashes, and the other has bristles that gradually get longer towards the end. With just a single coat my lashes looked separated and longer than they have with any other mascara. Although I don’t get as much volume as I do with the Rocket, I love the defined, polished lash look that you can achieve with Lash Out Butterfly.

I was interested in looking at the L’Oreal Infallible lipsticks because I had read great things about them, and wanted to try out a more long-lasting lip formula. After looking at a few swatches online, I decided on 814, Forever Frappe, and 112, Unending Kiss. Forever Frappe is a beautiful semi-matte warm nude;  it is very creamy and opaque with one swipe. Unending Kiss is lighter, more pink nude, and has a slightly more glossy finish than Forever Frappe. Although I don’t think that these lipsticks are particularly drying, I would recommend applying a balm or chapstick prior to putting on the lip color. As for the product’s claim to last all day, I have to say that it really does deliver. I applied Forever Frappe right after I purchased it at about 10am, and the color was still visible on my lips at 6pm (after meals and several cups of coffee!).

I highly recommend both of these products, especially if you are looking for a couple of new things to try that you can wear on a daily basis.

Have you tried either of these products?

I really want to try the butterfly mascara, but I have a ton of samples and other mascaras open already. I’d love to see a pic of how your lashes look before and after application!

That’s a great idea! Maybe I will post before and after pictures using a few different mascaras!
