Happy Monday! It’s harder to go back to school or work on a Monday after a break, but I just keep telling myself that we are that much closer to Christmas! I honestly cannot believe that another month has gone by and 2014 is right around the corner. For this month’s favorites I have been loving both recent purchases and products that I have had for a while and have rediscovered just how good they are. Without further adieu, here are my November 2013 favorites!
For eyes I have been loving my Bobbi Brown Rich Chocolate Eye Palette, Woodwinked eyeshadow my MAC, and my Le Metier de Beaute Dualistic Eye Pencil in Noir. The Bobbi Brown palette is perfect for creating everyday looks that are appropriate for school and work, and it is also great for achieving a smokey look for a night out with the dark brown and shimmer shades. Like I’ve said in a previous review of this palette, the color payoff with these shades isn’t the best that I’ve seen, however, I think that this makes the palette fool-proof to use. Not a lot of blending required, and I experience hardly any fall-out with any of the shades. I have been using Woodwinked a ton this month, either on its own washed over the lids, or paired with Mulch by MAC. It is such a gorgeous gold-bronze color that brightens up the face instantly. The Le Metier de Beaute eye pencil is perfect for the waterline – it has never bothered my eyes and always stays put (re: no raccoon eyes). It also works well on the upper lash line and can be smudged out easily because of its creamy consistency.
For cheeks I have been all about Nyx this past month, and the powder blush in Peach has been the shade I’ve used most. Nyx is pretty funny when it comes to the names of their products – as you can probably tell, the blush pictured above looks much more pink than peach. It is a mid-toned pink that when applied lightly, gives a beautiful flush to the cheeks.
It was hard to narrow down my lip product favorites for this month, as I have been loving so many! But Nyx Mega Shine Lip Gloss in Sponge Cake and Mac lipstick in Syrup have been in my handbag and have been used constantly all November. Sponge Cake is really special – I would describe it as a rose-brown with multi-colored glitter and I think it would look great on any skin tone. Despite the gloss having a fair amount of glitter, it never feels gritty on the lips; It has a smooth consistency that is so comfortable to wear. Syrup is one of my go-to lip colors for this time of year, and I think it is perfect if you want to experiment with a slightly deeper color, but are afraid to wear a red or deep berry lip. It is a deeper pink with a hint of purple, and it leaves a gorgeous shine finish.
Lastly, my favorite nail polish this month has been Twin Sweater Set by Essie, a beautiful crimson red. This shade definitely puts me in the holiday spirit, and I enjoy looking at my nails when I have it on!
