The Best Top Coat. Ever.

I used to get manicures at a salon weekly, but now, being that I am a poor student and the fact that salon prices are much more expensive in DC than NY, I have been DIY’ing my mani pedi’s.

In order to ensure that I wasn’t spending time to do my nails only to have them chip in the next couple of days, I went in search of a top notch topcoat. Since I had heard great things about Butter London, I decided on the brand’s Hardwear P.D. Quick Topcoat. This topcoat is much thicker than others I have tried, and I think that this consistency is is the reason why my manicures have lasted over a week without a single chip in sight. It also delivers the glossiest finish I have seen – it reminds me of the look of a gel manicure, but without the nail-damaging effects.

Finally, I have to mention this topcoat’s dry time – I can paint my nails 10 minutes before walking out the door and know that I won’t have to worry about smudging. How incredible is that?! All in all, this topcoat is a must have for me – and I would definitely recommend it for any of you who paint your own nails often.

Will have to give this a try – I am so bad at waiting for my nails to dry. I know what you mean about the manicures – you should see how much they can cost in London!

I so want to try this! My nails chip within a day or 2. I love painted nails I just hardly paint them because it chips so fast. Makes me sad! But if this works as well as you say that would be awesome. I’ve never tried anything butter London.

I’ve never tried Butter London but I’ll have to give it a try. I’ve been obsessed with Sephora Formula X – when I used their ‘system’ (base coat/top coat) I get great results. I’m on day 6 with no chips. But it takes a while to dry. But thanks for the tip.

Glad you got good results. I got the system and mine chipped in a little more than 12 hours. Maybe I did something wrong lol. But I did end up returning it.

Oh that’s awful – what system are you talking about?

The formula x system from sephora that gabriellestephanie was talking about in her comment.

That sounds so great! How about taking it off? Does it come off easily with nail polish remover?

Hi Natasha! It comes off easily with regular nail polish remover 🙂
