Happy Monday! I came across a brand new display of the L’Oreal Extraordinaire by Colour Riche at Target this past weekend and had to pick up a shade. The color I chose is Nude Ballet, a soft, light nude. At first glance I thought that the Extraordinaires were lipsticks, but once I tried to pull the cap off I quickly noticed that the tube screws open to reveal an applicator that appears to be exactly like that of the Maybelline Color Elixirs.

Aside from the packaging, the L’Oreal Extraordinaires are very similar to the Maybelliner Color Elixirs; they feel almost exactly the same on the lips, except the Extraordinaires feel slightly less tacky [but neither formula feels sticky to me]. The formula feels cushiony on the lips, and kept my lips from feeling chapped all day long.

As for the scent, I think that it would put some people off, but I quite like it. To me, it has a slightly sweet floral scent that seems to fade quickly. Comparing the Extraordinaires to the Elixirs, I would say that the former has a more noticeable scent.

The shade I picked up, Nude Ballet, is a very flattering, glossy nude that I think would look lovely on all skin tones. I also think it would look very nice over a nude, peach or pink lipstick [I wore it overtop of L'oreal Fairest Nude]. The shade lasted about three hours on me before I had to reapply, and I had to touch up my lips after drinking and eating.

Overall, I am a fan of the Extraordinaires and I think you will be too – especially if you like the Color Elixirs. I plan on picking up a few more shades – including Coral Encore and Molto Mauve!
