The Look: Amber Heard Golden Globes 2014

For today’s post I wanted to recreate what I thought was the most gorgeous makeup look at the Golden Globes – Amber Heard’s soft, smokey golden look. I think that this type of gold-bronze smokey eye is feminine and romantic, and pairs perfectly with glowing skin and a shimmering peachy-pink lip. I think that this makeup would be great for a night out, a date, or school dance. I personally would wear this look on a normal day as I don’t think it’s too over-the-top.

Let me know your favorite look from the Golden Globes in the comments below!

Face: I added a drop of the Revlon Photoready Skinlights in Pink Light to my Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation for a a lit-from-within look. I then concealed underneath my eyes with Rande James Concealer* in Neutral Medium. To complete my base I powdered through the center of my face with my Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Diffused Light.

Eyes: I began by applying Mac’s Pigment in Tan all over my eye lids and onto the inner corners of my eyes. I then mixed Mac Eyeshadows Mulch and Woodwinked, and applied this to my crease as well as my lower lash line. To brighten up the inner corners of my eyes a bit more, I applied Jouer’s Highlighter in Tiare. To add definition to my eyes I applied Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Eyeliner in  Rockstar on my upper lash line, as well as used this pencil to tightline my eyes. Before applying Ardell Individual Lashes, I curled my eyelashes and applied one coat of Maybelline The Falsies Mascara. [for a more in-depth description of how I apply individual eyelashes – click here] After the glue had completely dried, I applied another coat of the Falsies mascara to blend my lashes with the false ones.

Cheeks: I contoured my face slightly using Jouer’s Mattifying Bronzer in Sunswept – I applied the bronzer underneath my cheekbones and on my temples. Since Amber didn’t seem to be wearing much blush, I applied only a small amount of Jouer’s Blush in Rose to the apples of my cheeks. To add a highlight to my cheekbones I applied a bit of Revlon Photoready Skinlights in Pink Light to the tops of my cheekbones, and blended in with my middle finger.

Lips: I applied Le Metier de Beaute Colour Core Lipstick in Marrakech to my lips directly from the tube, and then blended the color out with my fingertip. For added shine I applied Nars Lip Gloss in Orgasm to the center of my lips.

How is the Nars lipgloss? It is very sticky? I totally want to try, but have yet to. It a very pretty look.

I would say that Nars’ lip glosses are tacky, not sticky. Mac’s Lip Glasses are sticky to me – but I really don’t mind the feeling of a sticky lip gloss (plus – they usually are longer-lasting). I personally think that Nars’ glosses are very comfortable to wear 🙂 Orgasm, Super Orgasm, Easy Lover and Ophelia are a few of my favorite shades
