The Miranda Kerr Red Lip

Happy Friday! [it’s Friday, Friday . . . am I the only one who can’t get that silly song out of my head on Fridays?] If you’ve read my Victoria’s Secret inspired posts, Β it should come as no surprise that I have a massive girl crush on Miranda Kerr. I think she is absolutely beautiful and has an incredible sense of style. In a lot of the photos I’ve seen of her she is wearing this glamorous, glossy red lip, a pop of pink on the cheeks, and neutral eyes with just a bit of mascara. I think that this type of bold lip looks really fresh for day, and can also transition into night without having to add any more color to the eyes or cheeks.

Here’s what I did, I hope you enjoy!

Face: Miranda always looks like she’s wearing a luminous base, so I used my favorite combination as of late – you guessed it – Revlon Photoready Skinlights in Pink Light + Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation. I then concealed underneath my eyes with my Maybelline Fit Me Concealer, and powdered just through the center of my face with Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Diffused Light.

Eyes: I used my Urban Decay Naked Palette to create a really neutral eye, sweeping Naked all over my lids, and taking a tiny amount of Sin onto the inner corners. For long, separated lashes I applied several coats of L’Oreal Lash Out Butterfly Mascara.

Cheeks: For a gorgeous pop of pink on the cheeks I applied Painted Earth Cosmetics Baked Blush in Nectar* to the apples of my cheeks [side note: how pretty is this blush? I could stare at it all day!]

Lips: For a glossy, long-lasting red lip I applied Rimmel Show Off Lip Lacquer in Big Bang.

If you have any look/celebrity in mind that you would like me to recreate on here, let me know in the comments!

Love all your celebrity looks!! So fun and you make it to simple to follow along. Any chance of a Nina Dobrev (As Katerina from Vampire Diaries) look in the near future?

Great look! How do you find the lasting power of the Rimmel Lacquer, and is it drying? I bought the pinky-nude shade and am not sure if I should do the all-day test…

    • January 25, 2014 / 6:12 pm

Thank you!! They have great lasting power- the color lasted all day, fading a bit around hour 7, and the glossy finish wears off after about two hours. Love this red shade- it’s a must have!

Also- I don’t think that they are drying, but they aren’t hydrating either so id recommend applying a lip balm
