The Bardot

One of the reasons why I love watching makeup tutorials is that they inspire me to try to recreate the look using products that I already own. I recently watched one of Charlotte Tilbury’s tutorials where she did a Brigitte Bardot look on Millie Mackintosh. The finished look was so gorgeous that I ran to my makeup collection as soon as the video was over [I basically do this whenever I watch one of Charlotte’s makeup looks]. The makeup features a winged-out black liner, soft smokey brown shadows, a peachy cheek, and pinky-nude glossy lips.

Here’s what I did, I hope you enjoy!

Face: I mixed a drop of Revlon Photoready Skin Lights in Pink Light with my Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation, and applied this to my face with my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush. To conceal underneath my eyes I applied my Maybelline Fit Me Concealer. To set my foundation I applied Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Diffused Light through the center of my face.

Eyes: I began by lining my upper lash line with my Marc Jacobs Magic Marc’er Precision Pen, winging the line out a bit at the outer corners. To set the pen liner and add a bit more drama, I applied the Marc Jacobs Highliner Gel Crayon overtop of the liquid liner. I also used this gel crayon to line my water line. Next, taking my Bobbi Brown Rich Chocolate Eye Palette I applied the lightest shade to my entire lid, up to the brow bone. I then mixed the next two shades and applied this to my crease using a wind-screen wiper motion. To further smoke out the look I applied the darkest shade to my crease, blending downwards onto the lids. I also smudged this dark brown shade onto my lower lash line. For my lashes I applied a coat of Maybelline The Falsies Volum’ Express Hydrofuge, and then applied four of the Ardell Medium Individual Lashes to each eye [click here for a more in-depth tutorial of how I apply fake eyelashes]. Once my Duo Eyelash Adhesive dried I applied another coat of mascara to my upper lashes.

Cheeks: To contour my face I used my Tom Ford Shade and Illuminate Palette in 01 – I took the contour shade and tapped this underneath my cheek bone with a fingertip, and then blended it out using my Real Techniques Contour Brush. I used the highlight shade on the tops of my cheekbones, as well as applied it onto my brow bone. For a peach glow on the cheeks I applied L’Oreal True Match Super Blendable Blush in W3-4 Barely Blushing.

Lips: To achieve a Bardot-inspired plump, nude pout I went all-out and used three different products. First, I applied Maybelline Colorsensational Lip Liner in Toast to outline my lips, slightly overdrawing by applying the color to the outer edges of my lips. Next I applied Tom Ford Lip Color in Pink Dusk straight from the tube, and then blending the color into the liner with a fingertip. Finally, I applied Sisley Phyto Lip Gloss in 1 overtop [Maybelline Colorsensational High Shine Gloss in Almond Crush is similar].
