I have a lot of makeup. Really – it is becoming a bit of a problem; my collection is taking over the bathroom countertop and cabinets, and there are always a few lip glosses floating around my night stand and dresser. For these reasons I have told myself that for at least a couple months [not sure how I will manage to refrain], I am going to hold back from making any new makeup purchases.
After a good rummage through a few of my own makeup bags yesterday, I found that this personal challenge will be a bit easier than I had thought. Usually, when I am scouring through my products I am usually looking for something particular, so I don’t pay much attention to the products I am pushing aside. Yesterday, however, I was just browsing through everything while I was getting ready, and really rediscovered my love for a few products that I haven’t put to use in some time.
Three of the products I rediscovered are, not surprisingly, lip products: Dior Addict Lipstick in 214 Tulle, Chanel Glossimer in 165 Volupte, and Gorgeous Cosmetics Liquid Lips Lacquer in Natural Luster. All three products are so easy to wear, and at one time they were all handbag staples. Tulle is a beautiful light nude for summer, and has a slightly glossy finish. Volupte provides a light peach tint, and makes lips look juicy, rather than sticky. Natural Luster is a really high-shine laquer [feels a bit tacky], and it is the most gorgeous, neutral pink to pair with a smokey eye. The last product is an eyeshadow – a light taupe shade by Givenchy that sadly, I can’t find anywhere online [Nars Lhasa is similar].
Now I ask you: how often do you sift through all of your products/makeup bags and get a closer look at lipsticks, eyeshadows, blushes you haven’t picked up in a while? And, what products have you recently rediscovered and have fallen back in love with?
