Happy Sunday! I’m not sure if I’ve mentioned it on here, but Sunday is absolutely my favorite day of the week. To me, Sunday means home-cooked breakfast and dinner, tennis [in the warmer months], and, of course, Game of Thrones. It’s also the day that I catch up on my work and email, and get in a little bit of retail therapy if I am able to.
Today, after making my favorite healthy pancakes and playing a few games of tennis, my fiance and I headed to the mall and I went straight to Sephora. I knew exactly what I was getting [I usually perform a lot of research before my shopping trips! Saves me from impulse purchases], thanks to a few of my favorite beauty gurus.
In Sephora the first thing I picked up was the much raved about Sephora brand Luster Matte Long-Wear Lip Color in Scarlet Luster, a beautiful true red. I don’t own many red lip products, so I thought this would be a perfect addition to my collection. I was also confident that it would be a quality product after reading what Amelia Liana had to say about the formula! I then wondered over to Too Faced to grab the Natural Eyes palette [another Amelia Liana inspired purchase], which contains nine buttery smooth neutral shadows. Though I own palettes with similar shades, I thought this would be great for travel due to the tin casing, mirror, and compact size.
Next on my list was an item I had watched Anna of Vivianna Does Makeup talk about – the Josie Maran Argan Infinity Lip and Cheek Creamy Oil in Limitless Pink. The formula feels really nice and creamy, and I think this light pink shade will be perfect for no-makeup makeup days, or paired with a smokey eye. My last Sephora purchase was inspired by all of you who commented on my skin problems post – so thank you! I wound up deciding on the Glam Glow Supermud Clearing Treatment – thank you guys again and I will report back with a full review on this product soon!
Once I was finished in Sephora I made my way to the Mac and Chantecaille counters for two lip products I have been lusting after for ages – Mac Hue and Chantecaille Brilliant Gloss in Lucky [another Amelia Liana inspired buy]. Hue is a really pretty sheer pinky-nude glaze, and Lucky is a beautiful golden pink gloss with lots of finely milled shimmer. Worn together, these products create the most perfect summer lip.
