The Best Drugstore Nudes

I guess there’s a bit of a nude theme going on here this week. If you don’t know it by now, I love, LOVE a good nude lip. Nine times out of ten I’ll choose a neutral over bold when it comes to lipstick; I love how it goes with everything and that I can swipe it on without a mirror or having to worry about precision [and getting lipstick all over my teeth]. Today I want to talk about my favorite nude shades and formulas from the drugstore, and I think there’s a color for everyone from this selection – whether you prefer more your nude more peach, pale, or brown – I’ve got you covered.

Nyx Pure Nude is the lightest and most peach-y of the bunch. It has a really creamy, light-weight formula that feels really comfortable on the lips. I think this shade is great if you have fair skin, or if you want to go for a real 60’s inspired look with a dramatic cat eyeliner. Rimmel’s Nude Delight is the second lightest shade, and is definitely more of a true nude. I am a massive fan of the Moisture Renew formula, it is incredibly hydrating, and the color stays put for hours. Nude Delight is an old favorite of mine that I rediscovered my love for after Lisa Eldridge used it on Alexa Chung in her latest video [!!!].

If you’re looking for a perfectly matte nude, look no further than the Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in Complex. Complex is a light nude that, despite its matte appearance, doesn’t dry out my lips. Complex also provides a great neutral base for a peach or pink gloss.

The last three shades are the most brown-based, and they all have really lovely, moisturizing formulas. Maybelline’s Colorsensational lipstick in Nude Lust is a beautiful brown-y nude with a hint of pink, a perfect shade to wear all year long. L’Oreal’s Fairest Nude is a bit deeper in tone, and is one of my go-to shades for fall and winter. Jennifer’s Nude from L’Oreal’s Collection Privee is lighter than Fairest Nude and slightly more pink. This last shade is my favorite formula out of any drugstore lipstick – it glides on the lips and hugs them with moisture. As an added bonus, it also adds a really nice sheen to the lips for a pretty, healthy pout.

Very pretty! I actually don’t think I have too many nudes in general so it would be tricky to pick a favorite.

I am loving nudes at the moment! The two latest ones I got were Wet n Wild’s Bebot Love and Milani’s Teddy Bare. 🙂

What do you like about nudes so much? I feel as though it’s spending money for almost nothing to go on your lips. Maybe I’m just not using the right one.

I hear really great things about loreal a fairest nude. My favorite nude is Estée Lauder sculpting lipstick in desirable.
