Current Obsessions

For this quick, to-the-point post I want to share my current obsessions – products that I am crazy about and love more with each use. It feels like I just wrote about my June favorites yesterday, but the following items are so good that I just have to tell you guys about them now rather than wait until July!

First up, the Maybelline The Nudes palette. I bought this in CVS because for one, it is nice to look at. I also thought it would be a nice, compact travel companion. I wasn’t very optimistic about color payoff and texture, but the quality of these shadows has far exceeded my expectations. All of the shades [with the exception of maybe two] are smooth, and have excellent color payoff – no chalky, blotchy mess here. If you haven’t already, I highly, highly recommend picking this palette up.

Next I have to mention Flower Beauty’s Glow Baby Glow Blush/Bronzer Duo in Beachy Keen. Like the shadow palette, this compact is great for travel. The bronzer contains very finely milled shimmer that isn’t really detectable when applied, so it works really well as a contour shade, or for when you want a more all over bronzed look. The blush shade is a really pretty pinky-peach that is perfect for everyday. I find that when I wear these two products together I am really able to achieve a just-back-from-holiday glow.

Getting into lip products . . . Clarins: how do you make your lip products smell so heavenly? What is your secret?! I am completely and utterly obsessed with the Clarins Lip Balm Crayons; they impart moisture, beautiful color, a hint of shine, and did I mention they smell like vanilla cupcakes?

My final obsession is with Chantecaille’s Brilliant Lip Gloss in Lucky [mentioned in my June favorites]. I haven’t taken this gloss out of my handbag since I purchased it. It is smooth, makes lips appear fuller, and looks gorgeous on its own or over lipstick.

What have you been loving lately?
