Quick update on the look I have been going for everyday as of late – still neutral, still wearable, only a slight product change-up.
For foundation I have been rotating between three favorites – YSL’s Le Teint Touche Eclat, Jouer’s Matte Moisture Tint, and Maybelline’s Dream Wonder Fluid Touch Foundation. On this particular day I decided to go with Maybelline, since I hadn’t worn it in a few days. I switch things up with foundation pretty often because I find that, in the same way hair can get used to a shampoo, my skin gets used to a foundation and it just doesn’t wear as well as it did when I first started using it. I apply this directly to my face with the applicator, and then blend away with a Real Technique’s Expert Face Brush.
On my eyes, I have been wearing neutral, shimmery shades. I’ve been going for the Lorac Pro Palette, Le Metier de Beaute Jojo, and Mac All That Glitters. Here I applied Light Bronze on the lids and Taupe on the crease, both from the Lorac palette. I’ve been liking keeping my lower lash line bare – especially during the day – so that’s all for shadow. To add definition I’ve been using either my L’Oreal Super Slim Liquid Eyeliner, which I used here, or, my Bobbi Brown Kajal Eyeliner. Several coats of Maybelline Full ‘N Soft mascara later, the eyes were done. One quick note about mascara – I recently watched Charlotte Tilbury’s Victoria Bekham tutorial featuring Wayne Goss, and Goss made a comment that women often don’t apply enough mascara. I think I have to agree, as I usually have to apply many coats to make my lashes stand out. Long, voluminous lashes really draw attention to the eyes and are so feminine, so I say, never stop at one coat! Unless, of course, you woke up like this . . .
Moving onto cheeks! For a subtle contour my Jouer Mattifying Bronzer in Sunswept has been my go-to [but really, when is it not?]. I just can’t get enough of peachy-pink blushes, and Tom Ford’s Frantic Pink has been my most-used shade lately.
For lips, I have been [surprisingly] really into lip liner. I think this has a lot to do with my watching [and re-watching] Charlotte Tilbury’s tutorials. I know it’s still early, but I think that Tarte’s Nude Universal Lip Liner will achieve holy grail status in my collection. It is a sheen-y pinky nude that has very fine shimmer running through it, which really perfects lips and makes them appear fuller. I’ll line the edges of my lips first, and then softly fill them in with this pencil. Overtop, I’ll either apply a nude lipstick or sheer pink gloss. Here, I went with Urban Decay’s Gloss in Lovechild, a perfect sheer baby pink.
