So, You’re In The Market for an Eyeshadow Palette . . .

The air is turning cooler, Starbucks is offering [early!] its famous pumpkin spice latte, and I am getting back into eyeshadow and my love of a good smokey eye. All good things that mean fall is literally right around the corner.

To some, fall means [in makeup land, at least] a pretty berry lip. Though I do enjoy rocking a bold lip with a chunky knit and favorite pair of boots, my go-to look for fall will always be a brown or bronze eye and some shade of nude on the lip.

So, if you’re like me and cannot wait to pack more shadow on your lids, or, if you’re just looking for a solid eyeshadow palette that contains shades perfect for day or night, here are my picks of the four very best palettes out there:

  1. Urban Decay Naked Palette – you can’t have a best-of palettes list without listing the original Naked palette, am I right? Though some of the darker shades can fall down quite a bit, the color selection is just too good. One of my favorite lid looks is to wear Buck on the lid, and mix Smog and Darkhorse in the crease.
  2. Tom Ford Cognac Sable – still my ultimate holy grail shadow palette, this quad is everything you need for a gorgeous smokey eye that lasts. Apply the medium brown shade all over the lid, add the darkest shade to the outer-v, upp and lower lash lines, and pat the lightest shade onto the inner corners. To intensify things further, dab the sparkle shade onto the center of lids.
  3. Lorac Pro Palette – I mean, do I have to explain? I can’t tell you how often I have used this beauty since I picked it up. The quality of the shades is amazing – so smooth and buttery, and, I rarely experience fall out. For a quick everyday look I take Light Bronze all over my lids, and apply Taupe to the crease.
  4. Charlotte Tilbury The Sophisticate – this palette is so perfect for everyday, or night, especially if you prefer mattes. As with the other palettes I mentioned, the quality of these shadows is incredible. They blend so beautifully together – creating a really pretty look in seconds is effortless.

I’ve been wanting to try all of these palettes! I recently purchased the Revealed 2 palette and I am soooo in love!!! I like the pinks! If I want something else that’s affordable but kind of a splurge, would you recommend the Lorac over Naked?
