The Skincare Routine – Fall + Winter

It definitely seems like this winter is going to be particularly frigid, we’ve already experienced polar vortex-like temps this past week. This time of year [and this year, especially] I find that I have to add a lot more hydration back into my skin than usual. At the same time, however, I’ve been having a pretty bad time with my skin since the summer, so I have to find ways to balance out my moisture routine with acne solutions. The following routine has been working really, really well for me the past month:

  1. As soon as I wake up, I wash my face with m-61’s Perfect Cleanse*, a really gentle face wash that makes my skin feel really clean, without stripping it.
  2. Right after I shower, I apply one drop [seriously, one drop is all you need for your entire face] of Roiel’s Marula Oil, massaging it into my skin in circular motions. What I really love about this luxe oil is that it packs a ton of moisture, yet still feels light-weight and never greasy.
  3. Next, I apply my new favorite priming moisturizer from Glossier. This stuff never feels thick or tacky, and blends into skin like a dream. If my skin is feeling dryer than usual, I really layer this stuff on, and even then, it doesn’t feel like I have too much product on.
  4. For pesky blemishes, I’ll apply Painted Earth Skincare’s Wonder Gel*, which lessens the appearance of spots throughout the day or overnight.

What are your skincare favorites?

ive struggled with my skin forever and law school finals time did me no favors. I recommend the Rodan & Fields ‘Unblemish’ line. Its a tad pricey, but its like proactiv for grown ups, its calming but really effective for acne when your pass age 21 and those bumps still appear 🙂
