Lip products are having a serious moment at the drugstore. I have very quickly fallen in love with two new launches – the Almay Smart Shade Butter Kiss, and the L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Last Lipcolor. Both come in really gorgeous shades, have good color payoff, and are really comfortable to wear.
The Butter Kiss lipstick/balm hybrids come in shades of nude, pink, berry, and red, and are meant to coordinate with light, medium, and dark skin-tones. I chose Light Nude [ a peachy-nude with shimmer], Light Pink [a cool light pink], and Medium Berry [a natural pink-berry with shimmer]. All are semi-sheer, and have a very similar consistency to the Revlon Lip Butters, only these feel a bit smoother and perhaps slightly less thick. They have a pleasant faint vanilla scent, and last on my lips between two and three hours. My only complaint is that I wish they came in more shades!
The L’Oreal Pro-Last Lipcolor is much more comfortable to wear than I had expected – no flaking here! I normally don’t gravitate to these types of two-sided, half liquid lipstick half clear balm situations, but I am really happy I picked this one up! It was the beautiful color that lured me to the display – it looks like Mac’s Patisserie in liquid lipstick form, only more pink. Permanent Blush is a gorgeous neutral pink with golden shimmer, and lasts for about five hours on my lips. If you pick one of these beauties up be sure to wait at least 10 seconds for the color to dry before applying the clear balm. Since I’m rolling in coupons to CVS [there’s one down the street from my apartment – it’s dangerous] I am absolutely going to check out a couple more shades, including a shimmering nude!
Have you picked up either product at your local drugstore?
