Marc Jacobs wants you to find your perfect red

It’s hard for me to find red lipsticks that I like – there are so many factors to consider: will it smudge? How does this particular red look with my skin tone? Will it wear off and create what I call the ‘ringed’ lip look after I drink + eat? And so I stick to my neutrals.

Left to right: Oh Miley; Je T’aime; Goddess; Blow; Core Cora; Rei of Light; Miss Scarlet

Marc Jacobs Beauty turned me into more of a red lover, though, with the brand’s new line of Le Marc Lip Creme lipsticks*. Each shade was thoughtfully created to work well with different hair color and skin tone – those with blonde hair and apricot undertones are suggested to stick to light, and cool blue reds, whereas brunettes with pink undertones should go for tomatoes and rusts.

Being more of a blonde with [I think] more of a rosy complexion, I picked up a color I was drawn to immediately – Core Cora, an incredible coral red. All I needed was one coat to achieve a creamy, opaque lip look. Did the hair-complexion matching pay off? I have to say, yes, yes it did – the first stranger I encountered in my building after I applied the lipstick exclaimed, “I love that color!”

A bit more on the formula – as I’ve come to expect from all Marc beauty products, it is to die for. Really creamy, uber opaque, and non-drying [thanks to antioxidant-rich ingredients like seaberry and cocoa butter]. It adds a gorgeous semi-matte, velvet finish to the lips, and as far as lasting power goes, no, it does not smudge, and yes, it lasts through meals [yes, plural meals] and drinks.

Have you tried any of these gorgeous Lip Creme lipsticks?

Ooh these all look so lovely! I have a weakness for red lipsticks, and have yet to try a Marc Jacobs one…

They look gorgeous. I’m really drawn to Miss Scarlet and Blow, although I’m still not sure how well really dark reds suit me, I still love them! I love a red lip, should wear it more often but guaranteed every time I wear it Baby Vee does his best to smear it across my face 🙂

I totally get what you mean about that unwanted ringed lipstick look! It’s not exclusive to red for me but with every lip colour. I’m so glad to hear there are lippies that help us girls out by having a long lasting formula 🙂 Je T’aime and Cora Cora look to be the most suitable for me. <3

Loving reds recently – all of these look beautiful, especially Goddess and Core Cora! Might just have to try them out, as so many others i’ve tried are so drying!
