The Look: Monochrome

One of the prominent looks for spring this year is very neutral in tone – it’s about amping up natural features, and not having any one product overpower the other. I love these kinds of looks, especially when they are done with warm nude, and bronze shades.

I think the above items are perfect for achieving this toned-down, fresh-faced glow-y makeup. They are also great for layering – you can very easily keep a few products in your purse, and swipe on a bit more color for night.

For daytime, I’d apply a light base using Glossier, and pop on a bit of Charlotte Tilbury’s Beach Stick in Ibiza, concentrating on the cheeks and temples. I’d then swipe on a small amount of Charlotte Tilbury’s Colour Chameleon in Amber Haze on the lids, add a couple coats of mascara. To finish off the look, Marc Jacob’s New Nude lipstick in Role Play is the perfect rosy-brown hue to compliment the rest of the makeup. I love keeping a gloss on-hand throughout the day, and Charlotte Tilbury’s Blondie is my current obsession.

For night, I’d add more of the Amber Haze onto the upper and lower lashlines [just draw on from the crayon, and smudge with a finger!]. A little more bronzer on the cheeks, and lipstick and gloss on the lips, and that’s it!
