As much as I love my neutrals, I really like to play around with some color during spring and summer, and my color of choice is bright pink. Though some people could think of bold lips as high-maintenance, I actually think its exactly the opposite – more of an easy-breeze-y makeup that you can slap on in a few minutes and head out the door. A little light foundation, swipe of blush, couple coats of mascara, lipstick, and done. No complicated eye makeup, no crazy contour situation – just a polished lip that makes any girl [in my opinion] look chic, and put together.
One bold pink lip I know I’ll be reaching for is Glo Minerals Suede Matte Crayon in Sorbet. This crayon glides on lips without dragging or pulling the way some matte lipsticks do, and it provides a really nice velvet matte finish [the way I like my bright lip products]. The color lasts on me for about 5-6 hours without bleeding or smudging, through drinks and meals. At the end of the day I was left with a pretty pink stain, and my lips didn’t feel dried out or that they needed several layers of lip balm – can’t complain about that.
To wear with this bold lip I like to go really bare everywhere else on the face and just add a few coats of mascara, or, I really like adding a neutral pink blush, a bit of highlighter on the cheek bones, and a thin black liner with a subtle wing.
