Why My Skin Looks Better Than It Ever Has

skincare-3

I’ve posted on here before about my skin, and my struggles with acne throughout my teenage years [and a bit into my early twenties]. Though it did clear up a decent amount post-college, it still wasn’t perfect, and I would have pretty bad break-outs from time to time.

My skin has been much better the past few years in terms of its clearness, but I would still reach for medium-full coverage foundations, and found that I always needed powder on hand for several touch-ups throughout the day. No matter what I did I still got oily – in a shiny, not dewy-glow sort of way.

Over the past several months, I was introduced to a few brands that, to me, completely changed my skin for the better. It is almost always clear, and I rarely apply powder. If I do, it’s once a day during a very long day, and I only dab it onto my t-zone.

Here are the products I have been using everyday:

Tula Purifying Face Cleanser – I wash my face with this gentle cleanser every morning and night. It leaves my face feeling clean, without drying it out.

Tula Illuminating Face Serum – I apply this serum before my moisturizer. It provides a really smooth, even base, and adds a bit of a glow.

Glossier Priming Moisturizer – I use this priming moisturizer for everyday – it really hydrates and plumps skin, without feeling thick or greasy the way some moisturizers can. It melts into skin, and doesn’t leave behind any weird residue.

La Prairie Ice Crystal Emulsion – I opt for this very luxurious moisturizer when my skin is looking dull [ie – after late nights]. If you like dewy skin, you will love this – it keeps my skin feeling and looking hydrated all day long, and adds a lovely lit-from-within glow.

I love the idea of the Tula serum–wish it wasn’t so pricy!

It is, but I really do think it is worth it – and it lasts for so long!

It sounds counterintuitive but I feel like facial oils have really helped clear up my skin and prevent breakouts. Thanks for sharing your favorite products!

I really need to get my hands on some of that Glossier Priming Moisturizer! I’m sick of using moisturizer that leaves that greasy feeling.
