Today I have a mix of mostly newly launched products that have really impressed me – so a best of newly launched collections, if you will. To get right into this, I’ll start with a few things from Physicians Formula. The brand has new offerings in its Argan Wear and Super BB lines. The Illuminating Argan Oil* is a great alternative to a few more costly shimmering body oils, plus, this oil can be applied to the face for added moisture, and a bit of a glow. I’ll add a drop or two to my everyday moisturizer, and apply all over my face. It is really hydrating, and doesn’t leave my skin feeling or looking greasy. The Argan Wear Blush* is just stunning, isn’t it? This shade provides a really pretty pink flush to the cheeks, and also adds a bit of a glow-y sheen. One tip, though – it does have a gold glitter overlay, which was very noticeable when I first applied the blush to my cheeks. So, if you aren’t a glitter lover, just wipe the glitter off [it’s a very thin layer, so it comes off easily].
As for the Super BB products, I am loving the Super BB Stick*, as well as the Super BB All-In-One Cheek & Lip Beauty Balm*. The stick is so great for days when I want to get ready quickly, as I can just swipe it on problem areas, take a few seconds to blend with a fingertip, and I’m good to go. It provides good coverage, while still feeling [and looking] light + natural on the skin. It’s also perfect to carry in a purse throughout the day for quick touch-ups. The Beauty Balm is a really fun shade, and adds a nice peachy-coral tint to cheeks and lips. Another great on-the-go item.
I have really had a thing for e.l.f. lip products lately, and the above lipstick and gloss are my two top picks. The Moisturizing Lipstick in Coral Cutie is such a perfect summer color, and imparts semi-opaque coverage and a lot of moisture. Rather than wearing this lipstick full-on, I like blending it out with my finger to achieve more of a coral stain. The Ex-tra lip gloss in Marc is such a nice opaque rosy pink – I am obsessed. The formula is also to die for – really smooth and creamy, as well as long-lasting. You can’t beat the price for these two products.
Le Metier de Beaute has come out with two Ken Downing limited edition Kaleidoscopes, and the above is the ‘Paris’ collection*. Each shade can be worn on its own, but I love using the traditional Le Metier Couches de Coleour by layering the shades, from top to bottom, to achieve a subtle smokey eye with an element of depth that I can’t achieve with just one shade. Each shadow is really smooth [Le Metier shadows are my hands-down favorite], really blendable, and have great staying power.
I’ve already mentioned the Touch in Sol Stretchex mascara, so just a quick note about it. I just love its lengthening qualities – it does such an amazing job of making lashes appear much longer, and it never seems to clump up.
Last but certainly not least, the Clinique Pop Lips. The above shade is Melon Pop, a perfect soft peach that I can’t get enough of. I love the way this formula feels, as well – really creamy, really moisturizing. I think I may need a few more colors . . .
