Favorites . . . From 2013

Every once in a while, I’ll look back at the first few pages of my blog. I suppose I do this for two main reasons: 1. to see how far my photos have come [far], and 2. to remember what products I loved most when I first started this thing, to see if I still reach for them.

The above five products stood out to me – I could literally remember particular days that I used them [dinners out with friends, bachelorette parties], which made me realize that I definitely need to start rotating all of them into my everyday routine.

Jouer Mattifying Bronzer in Sunswept – perfect for contouring, perfect for bronzing up the face. Not too orange, just the perfect golden brown shimmer-less shade. I used this bad boy literally everyday – and I think this is apparent from the pan situation happening here. Picking up this product also reminded me of my love for Jouer in general, and how I need to invest in more of the brand’s very moisturizing lipsticks . . .

Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector in 05 – I dubbed this natural gloss my “holy grail” in a very early post. I do still bring it out on occasion, but definitely not as much as I used to [most likely due to the fact that I am constantly trying/picking up new lipsticks and glosses]. I instantly fell back in love with this natural, non-sticky gloss that smells like candy. It feels like a balm, imparts the most lovely glossy finish, and keeps my lips feeling moisturized all day. True, I do really love the more recently launched Lip Perfector Balms [No 2 is my jam], but trying this on again made me realize that I do prefer the OG Lip Perfectors. I find that they last longer on the lips, as well as add more color to my lips. Definitely going to add a couple more shades to my collection.

Le Metier de Beaute Creme Fresh Tint in Poppy – no surprise here! I still use these cream blushes almost daily, and I’ve included them in so many posts [including a ton of monthly favorites] so I’ll be very brief. Gorgeous color, the perfect creamy texture, long-lasting – they are perfection.

Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Cream Shadow Stick in Golden Bronze – this perfect cream bronze shadow was one of my first ever eyeshadow stick purchases – and what probably began my love affair with this kind of product. I swatched this on my hand the other day, and I was quickly reminded of just how good it is – it does. not. budge. Super long-lasting with or without a primer, I think that these shadow sticks are well worth their price [and are a great, slightly less expensive alternative to the By Terry Ombre Blackstars].

Mac Cremesheen Glass in Richer, Lusher – I went to Mac not once, not twice, but THREE times to pick this gloss up because they were always out of stock. I love my peach lipsticks and glosses, and this, my friends, is still the most perfect peachy lip gloss. It has semi-opaque coverage, is non-sticky [feels nothing like the original Mac lip glass formula], and is shimmer-less. It looks so pretty on its own [paired with a bronze eye], or overtop of a natural lipstick, like Mac Peach Blossom.

What products do you still love after a few years of use?

I really need to try out the Le Metier de Beaute Creme Fresh Tint, I’m a big fan of cream blushes! For me, it has the be the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Whiskey – these pencils seriously are the best for me!
