As soon as I saw images of the Nars Fall 2015 line, I knew I stood no chance – so many neutrals, very my speed. I got even more excited when I learned the names of the two lip glosses in the collection, as I used to have both in lacquer-pot form!
Baby Doll, a bubble-gummy pink with shimmer, and Chelsea Girls, an incredible pink beige, were my jammmm all throughout college, as well as into my early twenties. I always had both lacquers on hand – they were my go-to colors for day and night. Although the updated versions are very similar, I do notice a few differences. For one, they are slightly less opaque, which I don’t mind [I find them to be a bit easier to wear]. The new formula is also considerably less thick, and definitely nowhere near as sticky as the lacquers. As far as color goes, this version of Baby Doll seems to contain more silver shimmer, which is quite noticeable [I prefer to wear it patted down, blended into the lips for a more natural effect]. The updated Chelsea Girls seems to be slightly more pink. All in all, I love them both, and you can bet they will be in my handbag for the rest of the summer, and well into fall.
My third and final purchase is Velvet Shadow Stick in Goddess, a gorgeous shimmering pink champagne. The formula is really smooth, and glides over eyelids really nicely. Rather than wearing it across my entire lids, I’ve been popping it in the inner corners. I am really looking forward to wearing this beauty during fall, I think it will look super pretty on the lids, paired with a bit of black mascara, and a berry lip.
That’s all I decided on for now – the dual intensity eyeshadows are really stunning, but I figured I’d wait until fall to see if I really need them. Give them a swatch if you’re at a counter, both are such great one-wash-wonder shades.
