That Inner Corner Highlight

A pretty well-known trick to open up the eye area that I’ve been using for years is to add a light, shimmery gold or champagne shade to the inner corners of my eyes. It’s pretty, effective, and a really quick extra step to add to any makeup routine. I do this on an almost everyday basis, no matter what other eye makeup I’m wearing.

If I’m going for more of a cream shadow, I’ll use a cream product. I’ll take a bit of product with a fingertip [usually middle], and dab it right on. If I’m using powder shadows, I’ll take a small smudge brush, and apply the highlight in a sideways v motion.

Some of my absolute favorites:

Nars Velvet Shadow Stick in Goddess

Mac Eyeshadow in All That Glitters

Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow

Cynthia Rowley Eyeliner in Rose Gold* [available at Birchbox]

Charlotte Tilbury Eyes to Mesmerise in Norma Jean*

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal

Highlighting my inner corner is something I always forget to do, but really should since my eyes are a bit close together. And I love how bright and awake it can make you look!
