Instead of doing lots of smokey shadow on my lids, I’ve been loving applying neutral tones, and adding the drama at the lash lines [and of course with lots and lots of mascara]. Easy champagne, bronze, and taupe-y one-wash-wonder shades are my jam because I still want to look put together after rushing around all morning and trying to get out the door by 6:50AM.
These two cream shadows from Wander Beauty*, a brand that stole my heart with its On-The-Go cream blush and highlight stick [still one of my top products for a seriously gorgeous natural glow], do the trick, and then some. They add a beautiful sheen to the lids without being overly shimmery, and the formula is super easy to work with.
To apply, I roughly brush on the color from the doe-foot applicator [which I appreciate – more convenient than having to dip a finger into a pot first], and blend out with a Mac 217 brush, or, with a finger. The product sets in about a minute, so you have a little time to play around. But, when it does set, it stays put all day.
My favorite way to wear these shadows is to take the champagne shade all over my lids and onto the inner corners of my eyes, and then smoke things out a bit by applying the bronze shade to my upper and lower lash lines, and then blending with a smudge brush.
