Makeup Tips For A Natural Look

Finding the perfect makeup to use when you’re aiming for a natural look can prove difficult. Overdo it just a little, and you’ll wind up with a look that’s too bright, too dark, or too cake-y. Getting a great natural look requires some makeup, but this needs to be applied skillfully for the best possible result. Here, are some tips for beautiful and natural looking makeup:

Start by Moisturizing

Creating the right base for your makeup is extremely important to the overall look. A simple, effective moisturizer like CeraVe lotion will benefit your skin due to its hydrating + anti-aging properties. It will also even out the texture of your skin, creating a perfect canvas for foundation.

Conceal

Spot conceal by using a good quality concealer to cover up any dark circles, bold lines, and any spots. This will allow you minimize imperfections, and leave your skin looking natural, yet close to flawless.

Use Nude Shadows

Nude eye shadows, like the ones in this Lorac unzipped palette, can give your lids a subtle, yet really pretty look. For the best results, go just a shade or two darker than your natural skin tone.

Go Light On Foundation

When you’re trying to achieve a natural look, dewy, liquid foundations are the best choice. Apply with fingers for a natural finish (and, you’ll wind up using less product this way!).

Be Subtle With your Blush

Crème blushes are great if you prefer a natural look, but want to keep your makeup bag versatile. You can add as little or as much as you like to achieve a look that’s either subtle or more full-on. The colors will vary depending on your skin tone, but peaches are generally universally flattering.

Go Neutral On Lips

The next time you’re shopping around for a lip color, stick to peaches, light pinks, and sandy colors. Dab a little bit of shimmering nude gloss on the center of lips for a pretty shine.

Skip Out on False Lashes

Add a coat or two of lengthening mascara. You still want your eyes to stand out, so be sure to give lashes a good curl, and use a black mascara. There are many ways to make your eyes look bigger while still maintaining a natural look.

This is great advice I don’t usually wear a natural look but recently I’ve been loving being a bit more minimal

Great post! I do almost everything you said when I want a natural look, I just opt for powder products instead of creams because I really hate creams.
