The Glossier You Review

If you couldn’t tell from recent Instagram posts, I love You. Glossier You, that is. (ok and obviously I love you guys, too).

After having worn this fragrance exclusively for a few weeks now, I have some thoughts. Yes, they are all positive. But, no, I have not thrown out all other perfume bottles.

I’ll start out by saying the scent is not what I expected it to be. I kept reading “the first ingredient is You” and how the concoction is incomplete on purpose, which led me to believe You wouldn’t be enough for me (see what I did there). I like strong scents and I cannot like. Tom Ford Black Orchid and Velvet Orchid, as well as YSL’s Mon Paris are at the top of my list.

Glossier’s You is more discrete, however, it lingers. It’s the kind of scent you walk past and think, what is that, exactly? That slightly sweet, spicy, musky thing. NOT, holy cow, I just got blasted in the face by a too-strong smell and it’s only 9 am. To me, it’s the perfect everyday perfume. A little something extra, never too much. Will it last from 9-5? No. Not on me, at least. Do I mind carrying a tiny tube with me to re-apply mid-day? Definitely not.

It’s the kind of fragrance that makes you think. It’s really not too much of one thing – no bed of roses or cotton candy swirls here. When I first applied You, I kept thinking, what is that? What is it about this that I like so much? Maybe it is that it has a certain air of mystery, or that it won’t smell exactly the same on any two people. Whatever it is, I know this: I couldn’t stop smelling my wrists all. freaking. night.
