It’s that time of year! The time when I spend far too long adding and subtracting different products from my Sephora cart leading up to the store’s sale. This year, I have my eye on a couple of sets – the Sparkly Clean Makeup Set and the Swipe of Lip Color Lipstick & Lip Balm Set – because they really seem like bargains for the cost vs what they contain, as well as a splurge lipstick I’ve been looking at for months (Tom Ford) and the Patrick Ta eyeshadow palette (these shades couldn’t be more perfect for this time of year).
As far as what I recommend – I’m going with tried and true favorites, some of which kinda break the bank. But I think that if you’re going to splurge on something, the time to do it is during a sale, amirite? Let’s get right into it:
Face
- Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder Foundation: this is my perfect kind of base. Light weight, that still gives really beautiful light to medium coverage, wears well and has a satiny-dewy finish. I also love how it blends it so nicely whether I use my hands, a sponge, or a brush.
- Saie Cream Bronzer: I LOVE THIS STUFF. Never has a cream bronzer blended in so seamlessly on my skin. And I think the tone is perfect – not too orange or too brown in my opinion. Another product that wears really nicely and doesn’t go patchy even after several hours.
- Dior highlight quad: if you looked “finely milled” up in a dictionary, I’m fairly certain that an image of this quad would appear … 😉 for real though. The texture is incredible, and despite being a powder, I find that it can give of a sort of wet look on the skin. In addition to wearing the lightest two shades on the high points of my face, I also love the gold and bronze shades as really easy shadows. They apply to quickly + easily with a finger tip!
- Nudestix All Over Face Color in Cherry Blossom: I just adore the texture of this cream blush. I also love the shade Cherry Blossom for everyday – such a beautiful pink.
- Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter: need I say more? Ok but seriously this is so good. I’ve been using it for years, and always, always apply some to cheeks under foundation for extra glow.
Eyes
- Charlotte Tilbury Exaggereyes Quad: I am on my SECOND quad. I have never repurchased an eyeshadow palette in my life! But the shades in here are so perfect to me for everyday. The palest is my absolute favorite inner corner highlight shade, and the satin/shimmer is one of my favorites for all over the lid. I also love the matte for the crease – it’s such a good alternative to the usual neutral brown.
- KVD Tattoo Liner: I’ve gone through sooo many of these. The brush tip is super fine, which I think makes precise application + crisp wings a breeze. Also great staying power!
- Charlotte Tilbury Cream Shadow in Rose Gold: another product that I’ve almost used up entirely. The tone of this rose gold is so beautiful – I feel like it makes my eyes sparkle when I wear it! Also, really great staying powder for a cream. These rarely crease on me.
Lips
- All Pat McGrath Glosses: love the formula, scent, and shade selection! Non-sticky, and yet they have good wear time for a gloss. A few of my faves are Pale Fire Nectar, Flesh Fantasy, and Prima Donna.
- CT Pillow Talk and Makeup Forever Wherever Walnut lip liners: my two go-tos! Pillow Talk is my fave for everyday (I think I’ve gone through 5 pencils), and Wherever Walnut is slightly deeper and more nude.
- Gucci Balm in No More Orchids: one of my favorite pink lips of all time. Super comfortable formula, and I just find this color so brightening!
- YSL Volupte Shine Lipsticks: one of my fave lipstick formulas, ever. So creamy, so comfortable. My favorite shade is 44 – a perfect muted pinky nude!
- Westman Atilier Squeaky Clean glosses: I have the shade Chou Chou – such a pretty pink. These are $$$ but I promise if you try the formula you will love it. It feels SO NICE on lips – nourishing, pillowy.
